Baseball: Chase Lambert leads Malibu to seventh consecutive win

Chase Lambert of Malibu continues to be a difference maker.
The junior shortstop-pitcher struck out eight in three innings of relief to pick up the save and help Malibu defeat Santa Clara, 3-2. Malibu is 7-0 and 2-0 in the Frontier League.
He came on in the fifth inning with runners on first and third and none out and a 3-2 lead. He has 27 strikeouts in 12 1/3 innings and is 2-0 with two saves. He’s also hitting over .500.
Another top player for Malibu is junior Noah Simon, who is 3-0 with a 2.33 ERA. In 18 innings, he has 41 strikeouts.
