Nobel Prize Candidates

OSLO — Eighty-five candidates were nominated for the 1986 Nobel Peace Prize by the Feb. 1 deadline, a Norwegian Nobel Committee spokesman said Monday. The nominations were 15 fewer than last year’s record 100, said committee secretary Jakob Sverdrup. Identities of nominees are never officially disclosed.
