Sen. Gary Hart Meets Israeli Defense Chief

TEL AVIV — Presidential hopeful Sen. Gary Hart (D-Colo.) met with Defense Minister Yitzhak Rabin on Sunday and toured Israel’s aircraft industry on the first day of an official visit to the Jewish state.
Hart and Rabin discussed the Middle East peace process, international terrorism and the Iran-Iraq war, Defense Ministry spokesman Eitan Haber said.
Hart arrived in Israel on Saturday evening from Cairo, where he met with Egyptian political leaders. He is scheduled to go to Jordan when his Israeli visit ends Wednesday.
