Ultrasystems Inc., an Irvine-based engineering and alternate energy systems company, named former UCLA engineering dean Chauncey Starr to its board of directors.
Starr, who was founding president of the Electric Power Research Institute in Palo Alto in 1972, replaces Roland Seidler, who resigned from the board in September.
Before founding the institute, Starr was the dean of the school of Engineering and Applied Science at University of California, Los Angeles.
