Continuing its strong rebound, Datametrics reported earnings of $366,000 on 93% higher sales of $5 million for its fourth quarter ended Nov. 1. The company lost $687,000 in the same quarter a year ago.
The results helped the Chatsworth-based maker of computer peripherals for the military post record earnings and revenue for its fiscal year. Year-end net income was $1.9 million against a loss of $1.3 million the year before. Sales rose 37%, to $18.2 million.
Earnings per share for the quarter were 6 cents against a loss of 20 cents in the same quarter a year ago. For the year, earnings were 39 cents, versus a loss of 38 cents the previous year.
Company Chairman Garland S. White attributed the strong showing to cost cutting and more intensive marketing.
