FREMONT, Calif. — Worlds of Wonder settled a lawsuit Tuesday that the toy maker said will stop two other California companies from importing and selling unauthorized copies of its animated talking bear, Teddy Ruxpin.
In a lawsuit filed in federal court in Los Angeles, Worlds of Wonder claimed that infringing copies of Teddy Ruxpin, sold under the name Animated Talking Bear, were being imported from the Far East and sold by Galactic Enterprises of Irwindale. Another California company, Royal Trend Inc., also was accused of selling the copies.
Last Dec. 8, Fremont-based Worlds of Wonder obtained a court order authorizing U.S. marshals to seize all Animated Talking Bears to prevent their sale.
