Costa Mesa : Driver Killed as Car Slams Into a Wall

A Fountain Valley man was killed early Monday when he lost control of his car at a high rate of speed and crashed into a wall, Costa Mesa police said.
Douglas Eugene Kling, 19, was driving northbound on Placentia Avenue and was approaching Swan Drive when he lost control of his car at 2 a.m. and hit a curb on his right, Sgt. Alan Kent said. Kling’s car then crashed into a wall at the corner of Placentia Avenue and Swan Drive.
Kling was pronounced dead at the scene with massive internal injuries, Kent said.
