Three teen-agers were arraigned on murder charges in the death of a black man who had ventured with two friends into a white neighborhood in New York. Michael Griffith, 23, was killed when he was hit by a car as he and two friends were being chased by a group of white youths in the Howard Beach section of Queens. Jason Ladone, 16, Scott Kern, 17, and John Lester, 17, were returned to jail after arraignment before Criminal Court Judge Randall Eng. Their next court appearance was set for Monday.
