Disney plans to open a store in Glendale.

Walt Disney Co., headquartered in nearby Burbank, chose the Glendale Galleria for a “trial run” in selling consumer products bearing Disney cartoon characters at a location not linked to tourism. The store is scheduled to open March 28, a spokesman said. Stephen B. Burke, director of development for Disney’s consumer products unit, noted that the company has been operating retail stores at its theme parks and hotels for decades. Disney also operates a store at the Orlando International Airport in Florida.
