The Clippers, 3-24 on the road, will open a four-game trip tonight against the Chicago Bulls and Michael Jordan at the Chicago Stadium.
After games at Milwaukee Wednesday, Boston Friday and New York Saturday, the Clippers will play host to the Lakers next Monday at the Sports Arena.
Forward Kenny Fields didn’t make the trip because of a strain in his right calf.
The Clippers (10-44 overall) are coming off a 111-106 win over the Sacramento Kings Saturday night at home. The victory gave them 10 wins, assuring them of finishing with a better record than the 1972-1973 Philadelphia 76ers, who set a National Basketball Assn. mark for futility with a 9-73 record.
