An ABC News spokeswoman denied reports that as many as 100 employees are to be cut over the next several months. “No decisions have been made,” said Carol Olwert, director of news information. “Our hope is that the number will be small. It won’t be 100.” ABC News has been reviewing its operations for the past several months, Olwert said, but hopes to handle most layoffs through attrition.
