Residents Return Home After Oil Well Is Sealed

LOCKPORT, La. — Mud pumped into an oil well that blew out late Monday has plugged the hole, allowing about 100 residents to return to nearby houses, police said Wednesday. No fires or injuries were reported from the blowout, which sent a heavy stream of natural gas and saltwater spewing from the well.
