Two men were arrested in the Malibu area Thursday on a complaint by former Ventura radio announcer Chris Widener, 29, that one of them took an errant shot at him after passing his car at high speed on Pacific Coast Highway.
Widener, who now lives at Lake Arrowhead, said he slammed on his brakes and then drove off at speeds up to 90 m.p.h. through Zuma Beach to get the license number of the suspects’ pickup truck.
Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies later arrested Randy Tupler, 23, of Camarillo and Michael Campbell, 21, of Port Hueneme. Detectives said a .22-caliber pistol was found in the truck and the men were booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
