A federal grand jury will be asked to indict Lynette (Squeaky) Fromme next week on escape charges, prison officials said. Fromme, a member of the Charles Manson murder cult who tried to assassinate President Gerald R. Ford in 1975, fled last week from the Federal Correctional Institution in Alderson, W.Va., where she was serving a life term and eluded a massive posse for two days. Warden Ron Burkhart said it is likely federal officials will charge Fromme, 39, with prison escape and will transfer her to another facility.
