The Soviet government’s love affair with Hollywood is deepening. Not only did cultural officials OK location shooting in Red Square for Arnold Schwarzenegger’s new “Red Heat,” but they are also welcoming a group of American actors and directors into Moscow on Feb. 19. Richard Gere, Carrie Fisher, Daryl Hannah, Marlee Matlin, Matt Dillon, Susan Sarandon, “Muppets” creator Jim Henson and director David Anspaugh will go to the Soviet capital armed with films never before seen in Soviet theaters: “The Wizard of Oz,” “The Empire Strikes Back,” “Romancing the Stone,” “Shampoo,” “The Killing Fields,” “An Officer and a Gentleman,” “Cool Hand Luke,” “Roxanne”--and “King’s Row,” starring Ronald Reagan.
