USAir has agreed to buy 50 Boeing 737 jetliners with options for 30 additional aircraft, a deal worth $2.4 billion if all the options are exercised, the airline said. Delivery of the new jets will begin in April, 1989, and continue through December, 1991. The twin-engine, short- to medium-range aircraft is the most popular jet ever sold by Seattle-based Boeing. The deal with USAir brings to 2,001 the number of Boeing 737s on order.
