In Memory of Hal Arthur
Hal Arthur, who was brutally murdered March 24 on his way to school, touched many lives throughout his 25-year career. We are students who knew him from his first semester at Grant, as well as the graduating class of 1970.
Hal was part of everyone’s life at Grant. He was a friend, a leader who gave direction and someone who only wanted to help the kids of tomorrow.
We are in shock! To see the senseless murder of anyone is horrible, but to have it happen to one who really cared is so shameful.
Just recently, one of us and her husband saw Mr. Arthur. He was so thrilled that two former students had married and had a child who might one day attend Grant.
Hal Arthur may be gone, but his memory will be part of Grant High School, and all the high school reunions to come. Mr. Arthur, if you are reading this wherever you are, “the Bobbsey Twins, Jeri, Michelle and Chris” send their love!
