‘EastEnders’ Ending

Regarding Randy Lewis’ story about public television station KOCE’s cancellation of “EastEnders” (“KOCE Will Drop ‘EastEnders,’ ” Calendar, April 8): KOCE’s underhanded method of extracting pledges from subscribers less than 1 month before the planned demise of the program for which support is being solicited was absolutely despicable.

I would certainly be interested, as a KOCE subscriber, in knowing who came up with that bit of promotional genius and whether we can expect similar deceit in the future.
