Pennsylvania Lottery at $70 Million

HARRISBURG, Pa. — The Pennsylvania Lottery’s Super 7 jackpot reached an estimated $70 million on Friday, and was expected to keep climbing through Wednesday’s drawing, lottery officials said.
Lottery spokeswoman Terry Murphy said sales were booming; nearly 7 million tickets were sold Thursday and Friday. Lottery officials will continue to update the value of the pot as sales continue, she said.
“I’m having a hard time just saying $70 million now,” she said. “I don’t know where it’s going to end up.”
The current total, estimated from sales figures, apparently broke a 1-week-old record of $69.9 million set in Illinois on April 15. That was split by four ticket holders.
No one has bought a winning ticket for six weeks, Murphy said. To win, a bettor must pick seven of the 11 winning numbers drawn.
