VIENNA — Austrian driver Gerhard Berger, who miraculously survived a fiery Formula-1 crash at the San Marion Grand Prix, told an Austrian radio station that he is in good shape.
“I’ve got a broken rib, a sore shoulder and burns on my hands,” he said in the interview this morning. Berger’s Ferrari couldn’t make a curve, hit the wall at 174 m.p.h. and burst into flames.
“I’ll be out for the next two Grand Prix races in Monte Carlo (May 7) and Mexico City (May 28),” he said.
