Philharmonic Society Will Offer Saturday Talks on Classical Music

Gail Eichenthal, producer of the Los Angeles Philharmonic national radio broadcasts, will open a five-week lecture series on classical music Oct. 4. The series of Saturday evening talks is sponsored by the Orange County Philharmonic Society.
Eichenthal will speak on “Describing the Indescribable: Talking about Classical Music” at 6:30 p.m. at the Four Seasons Hotel in Newport Beach.
Other speakers will be pianist Mona Golabek; Occidental College professor Alan Chapman; David Alan Miller, assistant conductor of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and UCLA professor Robert Winter.
All lectures in October will be at 6:30 p.m at the Four Seasons Hotel. (A no-host bar will open at 6 p.m.)
The lecture on Nov. 1 will begin at 6 p.m. at Founders Hall at the Orange County Performing Arts Center in Costa Mesa.
The lecture will precede a tour of the facility.
Series tickets are $30 for students, $35 for new Society subscribers, $40 for renewing subscribers or members and $50 for the general public. Tickets for individual lectures are $10 on a space-available basis.
