Olympic boxing gold medalist Kennedy McKinney was released from jail and authorities said they would probably drop charges against him in the alleged abduction of a teen-age girl in Las Vegas.
McKinney, who had been jailed since Tuesday on $12,000 bail, was freed on his own recognizance.
McKinney, the gold medalist at 119 pounds in the Seoul Olympics, was arrested along with two others Tuesday after they allegedly chased a 15-year-old girl in the downtown area.
McKinney, in an interview with the Las Vegas Journal-Review, said the incident was a misunderstanding and that he and his friends thought the girl was an acquaintance of a person that owed one of his friends $500.
