Charlie Phillips has been named baseball coach at Southern California College, the school said Friday.
Phillips, 33, replaces Doug Adams, who resigned in August to become an assistant coach at UC Irvine. Phillips was an assistant at Saddleback College last season and was the pitching coach at Orange Coast from 1987 to ’88.
He was an all-Southern Section selection at La Quinta High School and played on USC’s 1974 national championship team.
SCC was 30-21 and finished second in the Golden State Athletic Conference last season under Adams.
