Stalled Car Hit; Man Fatally Hurt

IRVINE — A San Gabriel man died early Sunday in Western Medical Center-Santa Ana of injuries suffered shortly before, when a stalled car was struck as he and two other men were pushing it along a Santa Ana Freeway off-ramp in Irvine.
The man’s identity was withheld pending notification of relatives, according to the Orange County coroner’s office.
The victim was pushing a Chevrolet by an open door on the Culver Drive off-ramp when the vehicle was hit by a Dodge driven by Young Ko, 41, of Irvine.
The dead man’s two companions were also injured and taken to area hospitals.
Ko suffered internal injuries.
