After battling a fire that destroyed a San Dimas home early today, firefighters found the body of an elderly woman who lived at the house, authorities said.
Investigators did not release the name of the 70-year-old woman, whose body was found in the house in the 2000 block of Terrebonne Avenue.
The home was engulfed in flames by the time firefighters arrived at 7:10 a.m., said Inspector Chris Button of the Los Angeles County Fire Department. They worked 15 minutes before extinguishing the blaze and found the body in the rubble about an hour later. The cause of the fire, which did an estimated $400,000 in damage, was unknown.
