California IN BRIEF : EUREKA : Owner of Pit Bull Charged in Death

The Humboldt County district attorney’s office has brought manslaughter charges against a man whose pit bull terrier killed his 22-month-old nephew last month. Marc Lee Antonsen, 24, of Redway, also was charged with keeping a vicious animal which caused death to another. Antonsen’s nephew, Garrett Michael East, wandered within reach of the dog, whose leash was tied to a pickup truck, authorities said.
