Boeing Predicts Deal With China: Boeing Commercial Airplanes President Dean Thornton predicted that Boeing will clinch a deal with China to build 150 aircraft by year-end. Thornton made his comments at the Asian Aerospace 90 air show in Singapore. China has already built 13 MD-82s in cooperation with McDonnell Douglas in a program to construct 25 aircraft. China is considered likely to insist on participating in the project to design and build either Boeing 737-300s or McDonnell Douglas’ MD-90s.
