Lowell Andrews, Civic Leader, Dies

Lowell A. Andrews, a longtime Glendora civic leader and 1986 Citizen of the Year, died Monday. He was 82.
He was retired from the U.S. Forest Service, where he specialized in watershed management. A resident of Glendora for 54 years, he was president of the Kiwanis Club and had served as director of the Chamber of Commerce, the Foothill Presbyterian Hospital Foundation and the Glendora Coordinating Council.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; one daughter, Sheryl Ogilvie; one son, Gary Andrews; a sister, Elsie White, and brother, Ed Andrews, both of Kansas; three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Oakdale Memorial Park in Glendora.
