SOUTHERN SECTION SOCCER PLAYOFFS : Marina a Winner in Overtime

Rick Rodriguez scored 15 minutes into overtime and Marina High School defeated Alta Loma, 4-3, in a 4-A boys’ wild-card soccer match Wednesday at Marina.

In a Small Schools girls’ wild-card match:

St. Bernard 1, Orange Lutheran 0--Charlotte Demery scored after a defensive mix-up 14 minutes into the match at Playa del Rey. Christie Simon had 12 saves for St. Bernard (12-7-1) of the Camino Real League. Amy DuPont had 13 saves for Orange Lutheran (14-3-4).
