Irvine Computer Firm Loses $561,000 for Quarter

Computer Automation Inc., an Irvine computer products company, reported a net loss of $561,000 for the fiscal 1990 second quarter ended Dec. 31, 1989. That figure contrasts with the net earnings of $598,000 reported for the quarter in the previous year. period.
Revenue for the quarter ended Dec. 31 declined 26% to $1.3 million, from $1.8 million.
For the first half of fiscal 1990, the company reported a net loss of $1.1 million, contrasted with a net income of $700,000 reported for the period in fiscal 1989. Revenue dropped 30% to $2.5 million from $3.5 million.
The company’s 1990 figures reflect a loss of $321,000 from the disposal of discontinued operations; figures for the previous year included income of $291,000 from discontinued operations, company officials said.
