PREP ROUNDUP : Ocean View Rallies to Defeat Estancia in Volleyball

Greg Evans had 17 kills and 17 blocks to lead Ocean View High School to a five-game victory over Estancia in a nonleague boys’ volleyball match Friday at Ocean View.
Ocean View won the first two games, 15-9, 15-12, then lost, 13-15 and 9-15, but rallied in the last game to win, 15-9. Ocean View is 5-3.
In Angelus League boys’ volleyball:
Servite 3, Gladstone 0--Tony Constantino had five kills and four stuff-blocks, setter John Fraher had six kills and 20 assists and Pete Mazzerall had 20 assists to lead host Servite (2-6, 1-2) to a 15-9, 15-6, 15-5 victory.
In Garden Grove League boys’ volleyball:
Rancho Alamitos 3, Los Amigos 0--Richard Pearce had 20 kills to lead visiting Rancho Alamitos to a 15-11, 15-7, 15-6 sweep. Rancho Alamitos is 4-9, 3-1.
La Quinta 3, Bolsa Grande 0--Chris Doherty had 12 kills to lead La Quinta to a 15-3, 15-5, 15-1, victory. Sam Barbee had five aces for La Quinta.
Pacifica 3, Garden Grove 2--Pacifica won 10-15, 15-6, 15-2, 10-15, 15-9. Alex Ripley had five kills and 13 blocks for host Garden Grove (4-3, 3-1).
In Angelus League tennis:
Servite 12, Bishop Montgomery 6--Eric Gond and Edgar Padilla swept, 6-3, 6-4, 6-2, and Harry Schoeman and Josh Nelson swept, 7-6, 6-3, 6-4, to lead Servite (4-4, 3-2) at Mira Costa High School.
In the Empire League tennis:
Esperanza 15, Katella 3--Mike Burgess swept, 6-1, 6-4, 6-0, in singles and all three doubles teams swept for host Esperanza (7-3, 1-0).
In Olympic League boys’ tennis:
Santa Margarita 18, Orange Lutheran 0--Sean Crafts swept, 6-1, 6-0, 6-1, and Jed Siacor swept, 6-1, 6-1, 6-0, to lead visiting Santa Margarita (7-2, 4-0).
In Orange League boys’ tennis:
Western 18, Anaheim 0--Ed Peregrino swept 6-0, 6-0, 6-1, to lead host Western (8-1, 4-1). Anaheim is 0-5 in league.
Valencia 13, Magnolia 5--Danny Yu swept, 6-0, 6-0, 6-0, and Ryan Takenheaswept, 6-1, 6-0, 6-0, to lead visiting Valencia.
In Sea View League tennis:
University 11, Saddleback 7--Steve Tze and Bryan Shapiro won, 6-0, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 1 doubles for host University (5-2, 3-0).
In South Coast League boys’ tennis:
El Toro 14, Irvine 4--Visiting El Toro (8-1, 1-0) was led by Chris Brown, who swept, 6-1, 6-2, 6-3, and Dave Mullarkey, 6-0, 6-1, 6-3.
In nonleague golf:
Trabuco Hills 416, Temecula Valley 429 (18 holes)--Mark Christensen shot a five-over 77 to lead host Trabuco Hills in a match that was split over Bear Creek golf course Tuesday and Coto de Caza Friday.
Ocean View 208, Cypress 221--Jason Koch shot a two-over 38 for Ocean View at Lakewood Country Club.
