California is fortunate to have one of the best laws for durable power of attorney for health care (“Is a Living Will Enough?” Mar. 4). Early on, my alert young lawyer suggested that we review its provisions together. I was in a convalescent center at the time, so he made requisite arrangements for a federal ombudsman to assist.
