Boeing Co. to Buy Firm: The Seattle-based aerospace firm has offered to buy a Dallas-based military electronics manufacturer for $20 million. The proposed buyout of UTL Corp. will be made through Boeing’s wholly owned subsidiary, ARGOSystems of Sunnyvale, Calif. Both firms’ boards have approved the sale. UTL, which employs more than 400 workers, has a $180-million contract to provide Boeing with backup radar systems to be installed in Boeing AWACS surveillance jets.
