San Diego police found an 82-year-old Point Loma woman strangled after receiving a phone call from her husband, who was later arrested in connection with the killing.
Officers found Lucienne McDowell of the 3600 block of Warner Street fully clothed lying on the living room floor shortly after 11 p.m. Monday, Lt. Dan Berglund said.
Her husband, Wilmore James McDowell, 58, of the same address, was arrested on suspicion of the slaying by officers on the scene, Berglund said.
McDowell is in the County Jail downtown. No bail has been set.
