Countywide : Applicants Sought for CCC Training

The California Conservation Corps is seeking men and women 18 to 23 years old to help fight wildfires and protect the environment in its Orange County Satellite Program.
Corps members build parks and trails, clear streams and provide ground support during fires and major emergencies. Members receive extensive firefighting training over a one-year period. They receive $737 a month, with a $1,200 bonus at the end of the program.
Applicants may sign up and take a physical exam on Wednesday at the state Employment Development Department, 12661 Hoover St. in Garden Grove, between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Corps members will begin training in mid-August at a new facility located at 18402 E. Lemon Drive in Yorba Linda.
