Bolton Sullivan, 94, a founder of Skil Corp., which produced the first portable electric saw. With his father, J. W. Sullivan, Bolton Sullivan founded Skil Corp. in 1924 in a one-room shop on Chicago’s northwest side. The company manufactured and sold the Skilsaw, invented by Edmund Michel. The firm gained a worldwide reputation as a manufacturer of portable electric tools before it was merged into Emerson Electric Co. in 1979. In Lake Forest, Ill., on Thursday.
