Convicted: Patricia Kluge, estranged wife of billionaire John W. Kluge, was convicted Monday in Charlottesville, Va., of improper driving for swerving to avoid hitting an animal near her country estate. Mrs. Kluge was not seriously injured April 27 when her vehicle went 35 feet down an embankment and flipped 1 1/2 times. Her lawyers argued the rural road is narrow and does not have shoulders, but the judge said people should not swerve uncontrollably for animals.
