The Iraq Track: Jesse Jackson said Tuesday in Washington that he would try to visit Iraq as a television journalist. “We have received communications from the Iraqi government that communicating with high Iraqi officials and the Americans held hostage there would be held possible,” he said. Jackson stressed that he would be making the trip as a journalist for his new syndicated television talk show and not as a diplomat. “The Jesse Jackson Show” is scheduled to begin next month, syndicated by Time-Warner Inc., which Jackson said would help underwrite the trip.
