NORTH TUSTIN : Supervisors Vote for Advisory Panel

The Board of Supervisors on Tuesday unanimously approved a new advisory body to replace the North Tustin Municipal Advisory Council, which was dissolved in June for financial reasons.
The new group will make recommendations to the county on North Tustin land-use issues, as the old council did, but the cost of elections will be saved because board members will be appointed.
Supervisors Roger R. Stanton, Gaddi H. Vasquez and Thomas F. Riley, whose districts include North Tustin, will each appoint one member. The fourth member will be appointed at large by the supervisors, and the fifth will be selected by the Foothill Communities Assn.
Members are expected to be appointed by the supervisors within 30 days. The foothill group is scheduled to consider its appointment tonight. Members will serve two-year terms.
The group will meet in the county Planning Commission hearing room at the Santa Ana Civic Center once a month. So far, county officials have been contacted by 18 North Tustin residents interested in being on the advisory committee.
