Pac-10 Decides Time Isn’t Right to Expand
- Share via
The Pacific-10 Conference decided Tuesday that it is not prepared to expand.
“After studying the data developed by the conference’s directors, senior women administrators and faculty representatives, the chief executive officers determined it was not in the Pac-10’s best interests to actively pursue expansion at this time,” Commissioner Tom Hansen said.
The presidents and chancellors of the Pac-10 schools met by conference call to review information submitted by athletic administrators in meetings earlier this month. During those meetings, Hansen met with DeLoss Dodds, athletic director at Texas, to discuss the possibility of Texas and Texas A&M; joining the conference.
