Pasadena : Ceremony for Flagstaff

A ceremony commemorating the refurbishment of the city’s 68-year-old War Memorial Flagstaff was held Tuesday in front of the pole at the northeast corner of Colorado and Orange Grove boulevards.
The pole snapped in two pieces during the October, 1987, Whittier earthquake, and a 70-pound bronze eagle on top of the pole fell to the ground. After an estimated $173,000 worth of repairs that included steel and concrete reinforcements of the base, the American flag began flying again last month.
