Jerome Rosenstein; Precious-Metals Dealer

Jerome Rosenstein, a self-employed precious-metals dealer for 40 years, has died at his Burbank home. He was 81.
Rosenstein died Saturday of a heart attack, said his son, Barry Rosenstein.
A native of New York City, Rosenstein moved to California in 1940. During World War II, he served three years in the U.S. Army, stationed in New Guinea. After he was discharged, he returned to California and settled in Burbank in 1950.
He started buying and selling precious metals from pawn shops, a profession he continued until his death.
He is survived by his son, Barry Rosenstein of Thousand Oaks; a sister, Alice McFall Hickok of Portland, Ore.; and a grandson.
A funeral service was held Wednesday with burial at Mt. Sinai Memorial Park in Los Angeles, which handled the arrangements.
