6 Homes That Shelter Abused Children to Get Some New, Free Interior Paint

COSTA MESA — The interiors of six homes that shelter abused and troubled children will get a new look Saturday by nearly 90 professional painters from across the Southland.
Thirty-seven companies, all of them members of the Southern California chapter of the Painting and Decorating Contractors of America, will participate in the annual community-service project.
The homes are operated by Olive Crest, a nonprofit agency that cares for abused children. The work would otherwise cost the organization $3,000 per home--a total of $18,000.
Keeping with the community atmosphere, all volunteers will break during the day for a barbecue lunch.
Besides running 26 homes for abused children throughout Southern California, Olive Crest has centers for troubled teen-agers and an agency for foster families.
