War IN BRIEF : JORDAN : Parliament Urges Support for Iraq

The Jordanian Parliament said that “it condemns with anger the aggression on Iraq by the imperialist American, European and allied forces” and urged the Arab and Islamic world to help repel the allied ground attack. Political parties announced that 17 recruiting centers will open nationwide today to register volunteers for an Islamic army to support Iraq. Meanwhile, Jordanian newspapers told Arabs to direct their anger and revenge against the people of the Western nations taking part in the Persian Gulf War. Although King Hussein has remained officially neutral in the war, most Jordanians support Iraq in the conflict.
