$3 Billion for Greece Tied to Economic Gains

BRUSSELS — The European Community on Monday approved a $3-billion loan to Greece that is conditional on Greek economic performance, a European Commission spokesman said.
Greece must cut its public sector work force by 10%, reduce inflation to less than 10%, slash the annual deficit, impose taxes on farmers and improve tax collection.
