Choice for Dump Site Tells of Neglect
Why has Weldon Canyon been proposed as a dump site, near our neighborhood on North Ventura Avenue? Very simple: For years and years this part of the county has been neglected by our local government officials, who treat us as second-rate citizens.
Besides being hazardous to our health, this dump would hurt our property values. Our modest homes are the only material things that we own. We suggest as an alternative the east-end vicinity by the County Government Center.
Our families don’t have prestige, money or fame, but we do vote. For those county officials who will be running for office again, you can bet your boots we will remember you at the polls.
