CLEVELAND — At first, Tim Mershon thought he merely lost some money, credit cards and his driver’s license when he couldn’t find his wallet. But he almost lost $1 million.
Ohio Lottery officials said Thursday that the winning ticket in this month’s Millionaire of the Month game was not redeemed until a friend found Mershon’s wallet under the seat of a car.
Mershon told lottery officials that he had already canceled his credit cards and replaced his driver’s license when he heard that the winning ticket had been sold in his hometown of Portsmouth.
