ROUNDUP : Valencia Defeats Western in Golf, Improves to 6-1

Senior Jack Drey shot a three-over-par 40 at Alta Vista as Valencia defeated Western, 220-228, in a nine-hole Orange League golf match Thursday.
It was the first league lost for Western (4-1), which still has two league matches to make up because of rain. Valencia is 6-1. Freshman Tiger Woods of Western was medalist with a 37.
In Angelus League golf:
Servite 171, Bishop Amat 208--Dennis Manzo and Garrett Moran each shot par 33 at Fullerton Golf Course.
In South Coast League golf:
El Toro 378, Irvine 423 (18 holes)--El Toro’s Joe Garner was the medalist, shooting a three-under-par 69 at the El Toro Marine Base course. El Toro is 15-2, 9-1.
Dana Hills 400, San Clemente 449 (18 holes)--Scott Richardson shot a one-under 71 for Dana Hills at El Niguel.
In Sea View League golf:
Corona del Mar 206, Newport Harbor 213--Brent Stulik shot a two-over 39 for Corona del Mar (5-1) at Costa Mesa golf course.
In Sunset League golf:
Huntington Beach 393, Edison 444 (18 holes)--Trent Fenzl shot a a plus-four 76 at SeaCliff for Huntington Beach (11-1, 5-1).
Marina 375, Westminster 426 (18 holes)--Brian Rey and Paul Ohshima each shot a one-over 71 for Marina (13-0, 6-0 in league) at Meadowlark.
In the Pride of the Coast baseball tournament:
La Mirada 3, Costa Mesa 1--Sophomore right-hander Mike Moschetti (1-1) picked up the victory by pitching 3 2/3 innings of scoreless relief for La Mirada (12-4-1) in a consolation semifinal game at Costa Mesa.
In the El Segundo tournament:
Edison 14, Lynwood 8--Darren Brink had four hits, including a three-run home run and a two-run triple, and Darrel Weaver had three hits and scored three runs for Edison (9-10) in the ninth-place game at Lynwood. Edison had 12 hits.
In Olympic League baseball:
Whittier Christian 8, Ayala 2--Mickey Fortie and Justin Bohanan each drove in two runs to lead host Whittier Christian (9-5, 5-2). Fortie had two hits and three stolen bases. Ila Borders (4-2) went the distance, striking out four for the victory.
In Sunset League tennis:
Huntington Beach 12, Edison 6--Brian Yee and Don Kuo won in doubles, 6-3, 6-4, 6-0, for Huntington Beach (12-6, 9-2), which clinched second place behind Fountain Valley.
In Garden Grove League tennis:
La Quinta 17, Garden Grove 1--Hien Ngo and Dung Doan won, 6-0, 6-0, 6-0, to improve to 27-0 in doubles for visiting La Quinta (14-1, 9-0).
