SOFTBALL ROUNDUP : Mater Dei Pounds Bishop Amat

Amy Godwin had four hits, including a home run, to lead Mater Dei to a 10-1 victory over Bishop Amat in an Angelus League game Thursday at Mater Dei.

Jennifer Clark (6-2) pitched a two-hitter for the Monarchs (12-4, 3-0).

In the Arrowhead League:

Calvary Chapel 10, La Sierra 2--Georgie Bogert pitched a three-hitter and struck out five for Calvary Chapel (6-5, 4-0). Renee Madrid had four hits and four RBI.

In the Century League:

Canyon 6, El Modena 4--Senetha Thomas hit a two-run homer and had three RBI for visiting Canyon (16-3, 3-1 in league). Sara Roberts (11-1) pitched a complete game for Canyon.

Foothill 6, Orange 0--Leeann Gonzalez (11-2) allowed a hit in five innings for Foothill (14-2, 4-0). Kelley Green had a home run.

In the Empire League:

Cypress 2, Esperanza 0--Monica Jimenez pitched a two-hitter for Cypress (7-4, 2-2).

In the Freeway League:

La Habra 8, Sonora 0--Dannielle Ortega (13-2) pitched her third no-hitter for La Habra (14-3, 4-0).

In the Garden Grove League:

Kennedy 1, Pacifica 0 (9 innings)--Cheryl Longeway (15-2) gave up two hits and struck out 13 for host Kennedy (16-2, 7-1). Pacifica’s Jennifer Surface pitched a one-hitter and had 13 strikeouts.

Garden Grove 2, La Quinta 0--Stephanie Mareina had two hits and drove in a run for Garden Grove (13-5, 8-0).

In the Pacific Coast League:

Trabuco Hills 10, Estancia 2--Christy Lunceford had three hits and two RBI for visiting Trabuco Hills (12-10, 4-0).
