Pan Am Creditors Reject United’s Bid: Pan American World Airways creditors said they are willing to keep talking with United Airlines about Pan Am’s Latin America and Caribbean routes. “We decided that the United offer is at present inadequate, but we are going to be inviting United to talk with us about ways we could make it acceptable,” said Leon Marcus, an attorney representing Pan Am’s creditors. United had no immediate response.
